Global Citizenship

Global Citizenship – our new project for the next two years so we can achieve our sixth Green Flag.

Well done everybody so far.  Our hard work has paid off and we have over the last ten years received  the Litter and Waste, Energy, water, Travel and Biodiversity Flags.

This new theme is concerned with creating knowledge and understanding about the link between environmental degradation and human rights. Students will learn about sustainable development and will be enabled to examine the world’s interdependency  and development in a critical manner in order to create real change by acting locally, effecting a more equitable, just and sustainable globe for all.

The Green Flag Committee:

The first step now is to carry out an environmental review.  We will be conducting a litter and waste audit on Wednesday 26th October 2016. We will be examining waste and weighing the waste used in the school per day and calculating the waste per week and per year .

The committee will require gloves on this day and if any parents would like to help out  or might have weighing scales we could use that would be appreciated.
